TRAINING WITH OLT
TRAINING WITH OCEAN LAKE TRI
We have a number of qualified coaches who will assist with club coaching and training, all holding a BTF certification. We also have a number of England Athletic qualified Run Leaders.
OLT hold regular weekly members training sessions at Leybourne Lake, Maidstone and at Canterbury.
These sessions will be taken by our BTF coaches and will include all aspects of triathlon racing. At Leybourne, throughout the cooler months these will be based on the run and bike disciplines with open water sessions starting as the lake temperature increases in the Spring.
Please be aware that we are also likely to have a number of 'impromptu' sessions - please contact us for more details or just to let us know you would like to come along and join us!
SWIM TRAINING
The club host coached pool swim session in both Leybourne and Canterbury throughout the year.
Note: Members who are not also members of the Larkfield leisure centre will need to pay an additional day entry to access the centre to go swimming.

When the water temperature in Leybourne Lake starts warming up, we hold a number of swim coaching sessions for OLT members both adult and juniors.
In order to attend these open water swim sessions, members must of passed a swim assessment via Leybourne Water Sports.
CYCLE TRAINING
There are club rides most Sundays from Canterbury (meet at the Independent Pedaler) and Leybourne (meet at the lake).

Usually, a session leader /navigator (not someone who is acting as a coach) will take responsibility for managing the group. However, this person is not responsible for the health and safety of the group or the individuals in the group. It is important that all athletes work within their personal comfort levels, abilities and health restraints.
RUN TRAINING
Regular Run training sessions take place throughout the year at Leybourne and Canterbury. (See the session schedule below).

At Leybourne, saturday sessions focus on improving run technique and strength. These are group run sessions with routes varying between 5 and 10k. These sessions are advertised each week within our Facebook group.
JUNIOR TRAINING
At Leybourne OLT offer coaching sessions for Junior members aged 8 and over. During the cooler months these are mainly run based sessions with open water swim sessions available in the summer.
Junior training takes place every Saturday, 9.30am at Leybourne.
Keep an eye on

SWIMMING AT LEYBOURNE
In order to swim in Leybourne Lake, you must first undertake an open water swim assessment with Leybourne Lake Watersports Centre.

During the assessment, you will be taken through all the aspects of open water swimming including the safety rules so that you have a clear understanding of what is expected each time you swim with us.
KNOW THE DANGERS
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE RACING ONE OF OLT's EVENTS, THEN YOU DO NOT NEED TO UNDERTAKE A SWIM ASSESSMENT. HOWEVER, WE STRONGLY ADVISE THAT YOU ENSURE YOU ARE CONFIDENT AND HAVE SWAM IN OPEN WATER PRIOR TO THE EVENT.

Cold water affects the body and we refer you to The Outdoor Swimming Society and also to The Epilepsy Society
